Subnautica vr controller not working12/13/2023 I don't know how involved it would be for devs to make the necessary updates to fix this, so I'm anticipating a long wait for some games to get fixed (if they ever do). This sounds like a nice workaround actually. As mentioned in the title, motion controllers will not working for this game at all (even Vive controls which partly work). OK thats got the VR setup, but you need controls. I can move with the mouse and keyboard, but it is absolutely nauseatingly bad. Then when you get in-game you can’t even move normally with the oculus touch controllers. This should be pretty reliable once you get your bindings setup the way you want them. Please try and boot Subnautica from your Steam Library and not ingame VR, since when I did this it did not load the VR Enhancements mod. You have to go to your mouse to click on the main menu. This workaround basically bypasses that by turning your controller into a keyboard/mouse combo. I havent had issues since starting it that way. Relaunced the game in VR and that seems to have fixed the controller issues. Make sure your controller is plugged in first, and turn off the VR controllers before starting if you still have problems. Rebinding 'Legacy' games for new controllers. I solved my problem by starting the game up in non VR mode then set the game to run in a window and not full screen. Go into the controller bindings settings, either look for a community binding someone uploaded, or make one. I think they've basically changed the Steam Input library in the latest Steam Client, which means the games all need updating to use it properly. So following a few sugestions I finally got the 360 controller working. You'll probably need to set a bunch of keybindings, am going through doing this myself right now. This then feeds input to Subnautica as a keyboard and mouse. I can play other games through Steam with it just fine (Fez, Hollow Knight, Secret of Mana, etc. After a few play sessions, though, the controller is not longer being recognized by the game. When this announcement happened, I started playing around with the settings. VR is perfect for this game since VR can be mostly an isolating. And for using the game menu I think my VR controllers or a PC mouse should be able to use. I could although change the menu selection but doing nothing else. Have fun because these 2 fixes will open up a really fun experience. May 2021 For using it on a PC where an Xbox controller is optional Although I have another game controller but it was to no help. STAND in your play space and turn your body (NOT the joystick). In the options you enable 'Gaze Based Cursor/Gaze select'. Recently Steam announced Controller Config support, similar to the Steam Controller profiles, for Xbox controllers. But there are a couple things you need to do to stop/reduce motion sickness. Originally posted by Rab:I have found one workaround though, but its.hacky.ĭefine a new profile for your controller in steam controller management using the Keyboard + Mouse emulation template. I picked up Subnautica to play in VR and decided to use my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as controller works better than the Oculus controllers. Solution: Uncheck 'Xbox Configuration Support' in the Controller Config menu in Steam.
